Dog Days of Sports: What I’m Watching on TV.

The football season has come to an end. Capped off by a dreadful and very lackluster Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the victorious Philadelphia Eagles.

This time of year the tv schedule for sports fans begins to slow down and if you are not a big fan of College Basketball or the NBA you may be left in that state of confusion where you are not sure what to watch on the good ol’ television.

This blog post will be to highlight the 5 items I’ve found myself watching on television in place of sports.

Before we get to the list… go ahead and subscribe to what I believe are the top 3 streaming services on the market today.

5. AMERICAN MURDER: GABBY PETITO

(Netflix)

It was the fall of 2021 and the true crime fad had a hold on America. When the Gabby Petito case emerged into the spotlight it quickly became a phenomenon. “Where is Brian Laundrie?” Many asked. Well if you had questions during the fall of ‘21 about the Laundrie/Petito case this true crime doc is sure to answer them. Streaming now on Netflix.

4. ZERO DAY

(Netflix)

A political thriller mini-series. This one will grip you with the hyper-realistic feel it has. An older president struggling with memory issues replaced by a younger female option. A country under attack by cyber hackers. This one is top notch and I highly recommend it.

3. WHITE LOTUS

(Max)

Just started this one but the drama/comedy tv series is an interesting one. Different plot lines for each season and an easy watch for the average viewer. To be fair, I’m still early in it so not sure where the plot is going quite yet but can tell it’s good.

2. THE TRAITORS

(Peacock)

This one is awesome. Based on the game mafia or werewolf. Instead load it down with reality tv stars and the drama ensues. If you like competitive reality shows where bonds mean everything this is the show for you!

  1. SEVERANCE

(Apple TV+)

This. This is it. Everything you could ever ask for in a television series. Drama. Love. Death. Deceit. Cinematography.

This is everything. If you don’t have Apple TV+ this is a reason to purchase a subscription. Written by Ben Stiller, starring Adam Scott. A TOTAL SMASH HIT. You must watch Severance. Weekly release television is making a comeback with this instant classic.
